Mission Statement
We invested considerable time considering whether or not to use the term "Mission Statement". To some the term had become commoditized and diluted, running counter to the values that motivated us to create Boramark. For others the literal definition of those two words were exactly the point - "A statement of our mission". The literal, "concrete" argument carried the day - this section outlines our "mission" and the animating forces behind our every action.
Our mission at Boramark is to collaborate with small business owners on the subject of marketing with a focus on respect, a goal of mutual growth and an explicit desire to help small business owners to achieve success as they define it. This implies three critical statements:
1. We consult for YOUR business. Your path to success is unique; you should not have to conform to marketing "standards" or "norms". You have to live with the reality of the marketplace, but your strategy must reflect your business' unique identity.
2. We leave our egos at the door - no power suits or power plays. If we can't make a plan for you that works, we will do our best to refer you to someone who can.
3. We are business partners with you. We will focus on actionable ideas that will positively impact your business.
We note that our statement of mission puts us at odds with the stereotypical view of consultants. That is intentional. We are profit oriented, but we are motivated by our successes with other small business owners. We promise you professionalism, dedication and the agressive attitude required to make your business viable in the competitive marketplace.
